Do You Have a Confidentiality Statement in Your Cleaning Company Policy Manual?

If you have a cleaning company policy manual (and you should), there are many policies you must have outlined in the manual. One of those policies is confidentiality of company information. You need to protect all confidential information from being freely discussed by employees.

Here are a few examples of points to cover in your confidentiality statement:

  1. Customer information (name, address, phone number, email address, credit card information, pricing information, or any personal information about your customers).
  2. Vendor information.
  3. Sensitive company information such as proprietary information, training, hiring policies, wage scales, marketing strategies, business plan strategies, and pricing strategies.
  4. Company financial information such as sales, sales forecasts, expenses, liabilities.
  5. Wage and salary information on employees, former employees and management.
  6. Personal information about employees, former employees, applicants and management.

Included in your list of confidential information should be instructions for the employees on:

  • How to handle requests for information from outside parties.
  • Keeping casual conversations regarding confidential information in settings where a third party can't overhear the conversation.
  • Getting clarification from management when in doubt on whether certain information should be disclosed.

Protect your cleaning company's confidential information today by establishing clear policies for your employees. Without such a policy, you may have no recourse later.

"Every day, sometimes twice a day, I open your website and I'm always finding detailed information I can use in my business. From your Newsletter, Profit Tips (past and present, I now have a binder full), Forms, Books, Discussions, FREE Webinars, Website building advise and assistance, etc., etc, etc. Becoming a member was the best investment ever.

I have belonged to several organizations and had to travel hundreds of miles to seminars at the cost of several hundred dollars and come away empty-handed with ill prepared instructors, yet here you are with all the information needed at my finger-tips. Thank you, once again Steve and Jean."

"Steve and Jean - thanks a lot for offering this great resource for folks like me who may not yet be in the business but seriously thinking about entering it. Your materials here are truly a Godsend for me. If it were not for your site, I wouldn't know where else to find reliable and honest information about starting and running this type of business.

With all the information I have already gotten from this site, I feel confident that I am better prepared to launch my business and that there are people I could turn to and ask whenever I have questions. For that, I truly thank you both."

"What a great site! I can easily spend hours and hours reading all the information provided in your site and listening to those valuable audios and yes they are surely beneficial to my running a cleaning business especially since I am only new to the industry. I could highly recommend it not only to my fellow Australians but to everyone in the cleaning industry! Well done Jean & Steve!"

"I really enjoy this site. I have found more things in the last two days than I have from others sites I have been a part of. I love the downloads and how simple they are. I have seen some from other sites that made no sense. You have made my life easier and I do not have to make the forms myself. Way to go!!!"
