Should I Use a Cleaning Apron or Maid Caddy When Cleaning Homes?

• It's all there for you. Cleaning bottles, trash collection bags, microfiber cloths, toothbrush, etc. Without an apron, you end up going back and forth to get new cloths and other supplies you may have forgotten.
• There is nothing to carry since you wear the apron. This leaves both hands free for cleaning.
• The apron protects your clothing.
• You may be able to match your apron color to your uniform color.

• The aprons can be clumsy and cumbersome, especially in tight areas.
• The spray bottles can be heavy and move around. They can limit your movement and slow you down.
• Because spray bottles can get heavy it can put stress on the pockets or straps used to hold them.
• The apron and pockets can get wet so it will need to be laundered regularly.

Maid Caddy Pros:

• Totes or caddy's work well for some of the same reasons as the cleaning apron; everything you need is contained in the caddy.
• Maid caddy's are very durable and can last for years.
• They cost less than aprons.
• They are easy to clean.

• You need to be careful when setting the caddy down on a countertop or floor. If the bottom is wet or dirty, you could cause damage to the surface you are placing it on.
• They can be heavy if you carry several spray bottles filled with cleaning chemicals.
• Some designs may not work well for your needs. If the sides are too low bottles can fall out.

"I use a tool belt like construction workers use. I put my toothbrush, brush, magic erasers, scrubbies, and cleaning bottles in it with room for a rag. It is a bit heavy but I love it."

Each has good points and bad, so you have to decide what gives you the most flexibility and ease of use for high productivity and keeping supplies handy.
