How To Offer Ultrasonic Blind Cleaning Services Without Investing In Expensive Equipment

We're often asked what is the best way to clean window blinds. Our answer is always the same - ultrasonic cleaning. It is by far the best, most efficient and most thorough way to clean most window blinds (wood blinds, some fabric blinds and highly oxidized blinds should NOT be cleaned this way).

In our first cleaning business we offered ultrasonic blind cleaning. That was when the machines first came out and they were very expensive. There was also just one vendor at the time. Now there are many choices and the prices have come down, but it's still a major investment for your business.

A better option would be to partner up with a company in your area that already has the equipment and offers the service. You'll probably find that the restoration companies are the primary businesses that offer ultrasonic cleaning. See if you can partner up with them so you can bring them additional business and offer a new service to your customers.

When you partner up with another business it's a great way to share your customer base. As they get to know your business they'll be much more likely to refer their customers to you. In addition, you can make a nice income off the added service.

There are two ways to approach it:

1.Sub out the whole job to them. They take the blinds down, clean and

re-hang them. They will invoice the customer and you get a "finder's fee".

In this situation, you can let them schedule it with the homeowner, which

makes it easy for you. But the homeowner may request that you let them into the

home since you already have access, so in this case you must make sure that fee

covers your time in addition to a small profit.

An advantage to this approach is that they have the equipment and expertise

to remove and re-hang the blinds. Some are not easy to get down and some are so

large they require two people.

2.You take down the blinds and then transport them to their facility. When the blinds are done, you pick them back up and re-hang for the customer.

In this situation you'll invoice the customer and make payment to the ultrasonic cleaning company. Since you are doing part of the job, you'll be able to take a larger percentage of the cost of the job.

By offering ultrasonic blind cleaning services through a professional ultrasonic cleaning company, you'll be able to offer a new service to your customers, and I can guarantee they'll be thrilled with the results!
