Who Is The "Weak Link" In Your House Cleaning Business And What Are You Going To Do About It?

In a previous newsletter I talked about what employee turnover is costing your house cleaning business. As a business owner, you pay a huge price when you have high turnover. But did you ever stop to think that some employees may also be a "weak link" in your organization?

Weak links also cost your company money. Sure, they may show up to work every day, but they may also be undermining your efforts at every turn. You know the ones -- they do just enough work to get by; other employees complain about the "slacker" on their team; they always seem to have a bad attitude. You know who they are...

Many employers put up with poor performers much too long in the hopes that they'll change. They may tell themselves, "she's just going through a rough time - she'll get better in a couple weeks". But a couple weeks come and go and the employee hasn't improved. In the meantime, her co-workers are starting to complain and the customers have noticed a difference too. Isn't it time to do something about it?

Weak links are kind of like a dull toothache that doesn't go away. But once you take that dreaded step of going to the dentist to get it fixed, it feels like such a relief! You'll have that same feeling of relief when you let go of the weak links in your business. In fact, you may even be surprised to get some thank you's from your other employees for taking that much needed step!

A word of caution: never fire an employee without proper documentation. If you have employees who are weak links, you should have Incident Reports in their employee file, and warnings as to the consequences of their actions, including termination.

Isn't it time you took action to get rid of the weak links in YOUR cleaning business?

"Every day, sometimes twice a day, I open your website and I'm always finding detailed information I can use in my business. From your Newsletter, Profit Tips (past and present, I now have a binder full), Forms, Books, Discussions, FREE Webinars, Website building advise and assistance, etc., etc, etc. Becoming a member was the best investment ever.

I have belonged to several organizations and had to travel hundreds of miles to seminars at the cost of several hundred dollars and come away empty-handed with ill prepared instructors, yet here you are with all the information needed at my finger-tips. Thank you, once again Steve and Jean."

"Steve and Jean - thanks a lot for offering this great resource for folks like me who may not yet be in the business but seriously thinking about entering it. Your materials here are truly a Godsend for me. If it were not for your site, I wouldn't know where else to find reliable and honest information about starting and running this type of business.

With all the information I have already gotten from this site, I feel confident that I am better prepared to launch my business and that there are people I could turn to and ask whenever I have questions. For that, I truly thank you both."
