| Name |
Debbie Shreenan |
| Name of your business: |
Happy HomeCleaners, LLC |
| When did you open your business? |
1996 |
| What services do you offer? |
From ceiling fans to baseboards and everything in between |
| Why did you start the business? |
I started when my children were younger so I could have a more flexible schedule, and now it has evolved into a small business with 4 employees. |
| How many people are in your company? |
5 |
| What has been the biggest surprise, good or bad, since you started? |
I was surprised at how much I needed to control things because I didn't feel I had that type of personality. |
| What is the toughest part of running your business? |
Keeping a balance |
| What is the best part of running your business? |
I love the people! |
| Is there anything that you would have done differently? |
I would have expanded sooner. |
| What is the most important thing you will be adding, doing, changing in the next year for your business? |
Happy Home Cleaners has been growing steadily over the past few months, which are usually our slow months, so that is great! The goal is to have double the business and staff over the next year. |
| Where do you see your business in 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years? |
I would like to see the company in a new facility with new company vehicles and possibly turn into a franchise. |
| What advice could you give others and please don't hold back! |
If you are not people/service oriented person or passionate about cleaning and helping others then this is not for you. Cleaning takes a lot of hard work and often times you only hear the complaints from people about what you are not doing or what you missed (there are a few who are very appreciative) so if you need constant recognition from clients you are not cut out for this type of work. It is all about being a servant as to how you can help someone and not about you! |
| How do you use MyHouseCleaningBiz.com to help you with your business? |
I am a new member looking to make my job easier such as not having to do so much research for one. I am still learning about what myhousecleaningbiz.com has to offer. |
| School - high school, college, technical school: |
I graduated from a Technical high school with diplomacy in the Baking field. |
| What are some of your prior jobs or businesses? |
I was a from scratch Baker for 18 years before going into the Cleaning business. I also was involved in Amway for a couple years and Premier Designs for a couple year and found that was just not for me. |
| Is there a specific person or event in your life that made you decide to go into business for yourself? |
I have always liked to clean and serve others |
