Name Mariam Afrah
Name of your business: MA Supreme Cleaning Service
When did you open your business? 2011
What services do you offer? We offer residential and office cleaning service from deep cleaning to light cleaning. Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, washing sheets, making beds and much more.
Why did you start the business? I love cleaning. After getting a lot of compliments from my home health aid job my boss asked me to clean her house, and then I found a great client who loved my cleaning and recommended me to more clients. That's when I started my business.
How many people are in your company? Two people including me.
What has been the biggest surprise, good or bad, since you started? A bad surprise: In order to grow my business i need more help in bookkeeping, and hiring.

A good surprise: Providing a great cleaning service to my clients has allowed me to gain a good relationship with them and I feel like I have a family not just clients.
What is the toughest part of running your business? The toughest part about my job is having to do most of the work alone. I need more employees to share the work load. I don't have a business background to be able to grow my company. I realize I need to learn a lot.
What is the best part of running your business? Being my own boss and setting my own hours.
Is there anything that you would have done differently? I would have gone to school and learned about business.
What is the most important thing you will be adding, doing, changing in the next year for your business? I would learn how to do bookkeeping, build my own website, and hire someone to help me run my business.
Where do you see your business in 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years? 2 years: Hire two more employees
5 years: Buy a second work vehicle and establish a commercial work space. I will also go back to school to get my business degree.
10 years: Have ten employees and have at least four cars and own my own commercial building.
What advice could you give others and please don't hold back! Learn as much as you can about your business and related fields. Also don't be afraid to ask a lot of questions. Learn from people who have done the work before you. Just know you cannot do it alone.
How do you use MyHouseCleaningBiz.com to help you with your business? I read all of the members' information on how they started their business and all of their advice about cleaning services.
