Why did you start the business? I've always liked cleaning and it is something that fit in with the kids. I get satisfaction of making people's lives easier.

How many people are in your company? 14

What has been the biggest surprise, good or bad, since you started? The good - it has continuously grown. The bad - finding a decent accountant.

What is the toughest part of running your business? That it can at times take over my life and wear out my body.

What is the best part of running your business? The satisfaction that an uneducated single mum can succeed.  That I have been able to raise my kids so they haven't had to live in poverty. That I've learned so much about running a business.

Is there anything that you would have done differently? Looked harder to get a great accountant.

What is the most important thing you will be adding, doing, changing in the next year for your business? Always looking for ways to improve.  Get better systems in place.  Do more training for supervisors.  Use the information from your brilliant website!!

Where do you see your business in 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years? 2 years - considerable growth. 5 years - almost have the business at the point where I don't have to work as much and all debts paid off. 10 years - living on a Pacific Island while the business supports me.

What advice could you give others and please don't hold back! Get a good accountant.  Get b to know other cleaning business owners, and other business owners in general.  Join BNI.  Always make it a team effort. Put yourself on your clients shoes.  Delegate your weaknesses. Be prepared to work hard and continuously learn about owning a business..

How do you use MyHouseCleaningBiz.com to help you with your business? Well I've only just joined but I look forward to 'meeting' other business owners.  I'm looking forward to new ideas.  I know there is a wealth of information to get me where I want to be sooner.

What are some of your prior jobs or businesses? Cleaning has been my main type of work since 1991.
