| Name |
Breginia Jordan |
| Name of your business: |
Perfection Cleaning Services |
| When did you open your business? |
August 2010 |
| What services do you offer? |
My company offers commercial, residential and move in move out services. |
| Why did you start the business? |
I started the business because I was a single mom who needed a way of providing a suitable living for my three children, two of which were toddlers, and with the cost of daycare, I needed a career that would be suitable for my lifestyle and allow me the flexibility that I so desperately needed with the raising of my children and without giving my entire paycheck to daycare while doing so. With this profession you must have the passion within to be successful and I most certainly did. I started when I was 10 years old cleaning houses during the summer for extra money and again when I was in college. The passion I have for cleaning has always been there with me and I have now transferred that into a very successful business. |
| How many people are in your company? |
12 |
| What has been the biggest surprise, good or bad, since you started? |
I would have to say that the biggest surprise is the ever needing response I get from so many desperate mothers who have had to go back to work due to this draining economy and are now in need of my services to keep the balance in their own lives the same. |
| What is the toughest part of running your business? |
I would have to say that the toughest part of running this business is knowing that you can't and will not make everyone happy. Even when you are giving it 100%, there's always that one person who you will never make happy no matter what you do and that's when you have to cut your losses and move on. Another tough spot would be the fact that you are not only having to provide for your family but your employees families as well. That is the drive that keeps me going daily. |
| What is the best part of running your business? |
The best part of running my business would have to be the flexibility and adaptability it allows me to have with my family and kids. |
| Is there anything that you would have done differently? |
The only thing I would have done differently would have been to start the business sooner. |
| What is the most important thing you will be adding, doing, changing in the next year for your business? |
In the next year I will be adding a partner and growing my business to a higher level of income and growth. With that comes the hiring of more individuals and taking on more clients. This will be a very exciting new year for all of us. |
| Where do you see your business in 2 years, 5 years, and 10 years? |
Every year since I started this business my one and only goal was to make this company grow and every year that is what I have done. So the answer to that question would simply be GROWTH........ |
| What advice could you give others and please don't hold back! |
The only advice I could give would be that if you want to explore into this profession you must realize that it takes a lot of determination and hard work. Many long days and a lot of blood, sweat and tears. |
