Tour of Member Office - Steve Pierce, Life Maid Easy
I had the pleasure of visiting the office of members Steve and Carlene Pierce in Vero Beach, Florida. Steve is an active participant in the Discussion Forum and we greatly appreciate his willingness to help fellow members.
Steve and Carlene own Life Maid Easy and have been in the residential cleaning business for over 30 years. As they gave me the grand tour I was impressed with how well organized they are. The storage area was impeccable; and believe me, that's not an easy thing to accomplish when you have employees in and out gathering supplies daily. It takes training and discipline to keep everything clean and organized.
What I love about their office is that they have an upstairs area that is devoted to training, which is perfect for residential cleaning. They have a living/dining room, bedroom, bathroom with tub and shower, and small kitchen area, which is not quite complete. New employees are trained here first, so they don't have to learn “on the job”.
You'll notice in the bathroom, Steve has laid tile flooring over the carpet. In the living room he has laid wood flooring over the carpet. Since he leases the building and can't change the flooring, this is a great way to have different surfaces that he can use to train employees with.
This room also has a projector, which Steve uses for classroom training. Employees sit at the table as Steve projects various training programs onto the opposite wall so they can discuss the topic as a group.
In the photo below, Steve shows the setup of all his vans. Every van has the identical layout to make it an easy visual for employees to see if they're missing any supplies or equipment.
