Last week, 16,000 cleaning-industry leaders attended ISSA/INTERCLEAN North America in Las Vegas. The annual tradeshow provides building service contractors, in-house facility managers, and others in the cleaning industry the opportunity to learn from one another and to discover the latest trends.

We're excited to share with you some of the most interesting products we saw at ISSA. These tools and software show great promise in helping residential cleaning companies do their job more efficiently and effectively.

ProWash by MotorScrubber

Thanks to MotorScrubber's new ProWash tool, residential cleaning companies can now offer exterior cleaning as an add-on service. ProWash is the only high-level, fully portable, industrial scrubbing and rinsing machine.

Apply chemical at a high level, guide MotorScrubber over the surface and easily rinse with 13 gallons of on-demand fresh water. It makes light work out of cleaning vinyl siding, cladding, guttering, and even large vehicles.

Stingray by Unger

Make fast work of interior windows with Unger's Stingray kit. The system cleans 25% faster and uses 39% less cleaning agent than traditional spray and cloth cleaning.

Available in handheld and 3-, 5-, and 10-foot versions, the Stingray allows housecleaners to reach up to 18 feet high without ladders. Another safety feature is the lack of open-air spray, which minimizes airborne chemicals to improve indoor air quality.

Clean up to 1600 sq. ft. of glass with a single pouch of the glass cleaner and protector. And use the low-profile, triangular head to clean hard-to-reach places.

Zoom 800 Cordless Vacuum by CleanMax

Cords are not only a safety hazard, they also slow down productivity thanks to the constant need for plugging and unplugging as a worker moves. Unfortunately, many cordless vacuums have fallen short in terms of power.

CleanMax promises to fix that problem with its new Zoom 800 cordless vacuum. The 44-volt lithium ion battery runs at top cleaning power for approximately 50 minutes per charge. Swap out for a fresh battery or recharge in under two hours.

The ultra-lightweight Zoom is LEED Qualifying and CRI Bronze certified and features a self-sealing HEPA media bag, a rubber squeegee for bare floors, and battery life displays at the press of a button. It's made of quality materials, including six rubber wheels and durable metal parts in high-wear areas.

Hazard Free by PortionPac

There's only one advanced cleaning system in the janitorial industry that can claim it is 100% free of hazards according to OSHA's HazCom Standard. That's the hazard-free system from PortionPac®. That means there are no pictograms, hazard, or precautionary statements on any of its cleaners.

Mixing one Pac®brand pouch to a container eliminates the math and guesswork associated with bulk materials, resulting in safer and more accurate use of cleaners. Simply fill containers to their proper level with water, open one Pac®brand pouch and pour.

The new hazard-free formulations perform better, are safer to use, and are Green Seal™ certified. Along with updated packaging and a modern manufacturing process, PortionPac® Cleaning Systems are the key to increased productivity and profitability.

Enhanced Translation by Swept

Language barriers are a very real problem in the cleaning industry. If you have a diverse team and want to improve communication, Swept hopes its new Enhanced Translation feature can help.

Swept is comprehensive software for residential cleaners that includes everything from mobile time tracking to quality inspection capabilities. At ISSA, the company announced it's adding enhanced translation to its list of features.

Managers and cleaners who use the program can now set a preference of more than 100 languages. Other team members can then view messages, reports, and instructions in their own native languages. Reducing language barriers that can result in mistakes will help janitorial companies retain more cleaners and customers.
